Global date, visualization
and granularity

Problem

Switching between different dates, visualization and detail levels of looking at the data was either very difficult or not allowed at all. 

Each way of looking at the data could have only been viewed through a narrow perspective. Looking at the data in another time period or using different visualization or under a different level of detail required creating, using and maintaining different separate so-called Views.

This meant that the total number of available Views was always unnecessarily high, the interaction cost of switching between different Views was high too, the findability of the right View was bad and the entire user flow was extremely non-flexible.
